FEAR AND ANXIETY…D.Lama, Winnegrad

FEAR AND ANXIETY can be a major obstacle to achieving our goals. The Dalai Lama said; “I think we first need to recognize that there are many different types of FEAR. Some are genuine. Then  there are other types of our own mental creations. My theory of reducing worry is; If the situation or problem is such that it can be remedied then why worry. The appropriate action is to seek its solution. Alternately, if there is no way out, no solution, no possibility of solution, then why worry.” This process can reduce ANXIETY and worry in most cases.

When ANXIOUS about giving a talk the Dalai Lama says that; “I must remember my aim is to be of at least some benefit to the people, not for showing off my knowledge.” Sincere motivation acts as a remedy to reduce FEAR and ANXIETY.

To train the mind toward achieving happiness the Dalai Lama said, the closer one gets to being motivated by unselfish, selfless, generous means the more FEARLESS one becomes in the face of ANXIETY. A healthy sense of self-confidence is a critical factor in achieving our goals. A low self-confidence inhibits our efforts to meet challenges. A sense of arrogance leads to depression when they fail to live up to their own self-image. To overcome these issues one method developed by the Dalai Lama is to develop one’s humility, patience and honesty. When one has genuine concern for others and the desire to be of service to them, then they have self-confidence.

TAKE CARE, STAY WELL, STAY HEALTHY. ALWAYS HAVE FAITH. THANK YOU.
