A teacher gave each student a clean white sheet of paper. In the middle of the page, she drew a small black dot. She told the class; “Write what you see.” Every student wrote the same thing, a black dot. When they handed back their papers, the teacher smiled; “not one of you noticed the white space around it. You focused only on the tiny black dot…just like in life, people only see problems, mistakes and flaws. But life is mostly white space, which are opportunities, blessings and possibilities. Do not miss them, because you are staring at one dark spot.”
The classroom went silent. Every student realized…they were living their lives focusing on the wrong things. Your life will always have dark spots, but if you only stare at them you will miss the bigger picture. Focus on the white space. That’s where life happens.
This is very good advice for students as well as adults. Even for dinosaur adults. ENJOY THE WHITE SPACES IN YOUR LIVES. STEP INTO THEM WITH A SMILE AND GRATITUDE.
TAKE CARE, STAY WELL, STAY HEALTHY, HAVE FAITH. THANK YOU.

I read this and reflect on the times you taught me of the many aspects of life and art where, it is the space between the notes that also creates the music, that stepping back and looking at the whole picture that the image becomes more clear, the value of letting the colors bleed out of the lines, and so on.
I am grateful for your teachings.
Love you Numero Uno Papa.
