It is common to get caught in the habit of RECYCLING ONE’S THOUGHTS. THOUGHTS do swirl around in our minds, each feeling important, and therefore all-consuming. But when we take a closer look, it’s usually the same THOUGHTS and worries being RECYCLED. The truth is our minds are like a radio station that plays the same five songs on repeat. We RECYCLE on the same narrow concerns, fears and THOUGHTS over and over every day. But once we are aware that our song is being played again, we should pause and pull ourselves out of this loop. We should say to ourselves, out loud, “ahhh, there’s that song again.”
We then can choose to change the station and break out of the cycle of RECYCLING. The tricky part is to realize when we are lost in our thoughts, which does take practice. In meditation when our thought wanders we come back and focus on the breathing. This strengthens the skill of concentration. When noticing the song being replayed, this is strengthening our minds to concentrate, so we can leave that thought to more productive thoughts.
We must pay attention to the playlist of our minds. This strengthens the skill. Smile and just say to yourself; “there’s that song again” and come back to the present.
TAKE CARE, STAY WELL, STAY HEALTHY. HAVE FAITH. THANK YOU.

…but I like that song 😉
OK, maybe I’ll just unplug the radio and breathe in unison with the mountain stream and wind 🙂
Thank you for the medicine ~ love you.
