PROPER RESPECT refers to the positive or negative feelings we have toward ourselves. Too often we use external criteria as a means of judging our self-worth. Things like our career, achievements, social status and relationships. External factors are not an accurate measure to our self-worth. We are too concerned about gain and loss, right and wrong, and we can’t decide on what to do. We must look inward to see our true value. We have the power to accept ourselves exactly as we are. We should not base our self-worth on our job title or on our bank account. Suffering can come in the form of greed, anger, arrogance, or doubt. Doubt prevents us from making decisions, from trusting others and to trust ourselves.
The more we pay attention to our thoughts, we then know how hard we are on ourselves. Accept yourself who you are, when you self-judge yourself you then see how hard you can be on yourself. Come back to yourself with loving words of acceptance. This is when healing begins. As Oscar Wilde said; “To love oneself is the beginning of a life-long romance.” With a calm mind we will pass through good times and bad. This is a sign of mental well-being. Being at peace with yourself, you must have a calm and peaceful mind. You then will be able to be compassionate, forgiving and caring toward others. This allows the same toward oneself.
AN ENLIGHTENED PERSON HAS NO THOUGHT OF LOSS OR GAIN. IT IS THE WELL-BEING OF OTHERS THAT IS IMPORTANT.
TAKE CARE, STAY WELL, STAY HEALTHY. HAVE FAITH. BEAR THE LOVE. THANK YOU.
