FIND YOUR BROOM…R.Rigsby, Winnegrad

WHAT MATTERS IS HOW YOU LIVE. ARE YOU DOING THE RIGHT THING? It is never wrong to do the right thing. John Wooden was one of the most successful college basketball coaches. He coached UCLA to many championships in his tenure. His true calling was the impact he had on his players and people in general. Wooden always SHARED his philosophy of being a decent HUMAN with his athletes and others. With all his achievements he was always found in the middle of every week going to the cupboard grabbing a BROOM and sweeping out the gymnasium. FIND YOUR BROOM, every day of your life. You will absolutely influence others. ARE YOU DOING THE RIGHT THING?

Rick Rigsby said; “EGO IS THE ANESTHESIA THAT DEADENS THE PAIN OF STUPIDITY, PRIDE IS THE BURDEN OF A FOOLISH PERSON. BE DEFINED BY WHO YOU ARE.” We all will be defined on what is done habitually. We should be open to other people. We should ASSIST others in their need. ARE YOU DOING THE RIGHT THING? FIND YOUR BROOM.

Do not judge others, use your BROOM to bring them FORWARD. When you bring others FORWARD the response, the GRATITUDE you receive will carry you FORWARD. Then you can respond to the question; ARE YOU DOING THE RIGHT THING? Every day, ask yourself that very meaningful question; ARE YOU DOING THE RIGHT THING?

FINDING YOUR BROOM IS ESSENTIALLY GETTING DOWN TO THE BASICS OF HUMANITY; BEING EGOLESS, GENEROSITY, LISTENING, ASSISTING, AND SHOWING COMPASSION. We must remember that we ALL ARE FAMILY. That is what HUMANITY is about. Be a TRUE HUMAN, FIND YOUR BROOM AND ASK YOURSELF; ARE YOU DOING THE RIGHT THING?

LOOK IN YOUR HEART AND SOUL AND FIND YOUR BROOM. IT’S THERE.

  1. Sweeping a broom is very cathartic and meditative. The motions flow with the breath in harmony.
Taking these motions with us in our day, may we cleanse the spirit and make a beautiful way for all that we meet.

  2. A perfect time prior to next weeks family and friends gathering.
I am often inspired more by people who worked their way up from the bottom. They have had the opportunity to travel the journey and feel what it’s like to operate looking up. They are the ones who experience the pitfalls of poor decisions from the top. They can live the humanity we often forget and when people respect where they came from and honor the contributions from all the areas of a company or a family, they proposer.
It is so much more rewarding to “ do the right thing “ and respect those around you, than winning at all costs.
I mentioned to someone not familiar with the beauty industry the other day that although we were highly competitive, there was respect for creativity, and great execution by our competitors.
I think the wine industry is also one that respects and helps their competitors which results in good product, a sense of community,
And enhancing people engaged in it.
    Great piece Ron.

  3. I love this! I know many people who have found their broom and am better for knowing them. They are the true hero’s in a world full of people who are only interested in money and power. A perfect reminder for the way to be a good human. Thank you. 💜
