Focusing is great for analyzing alternatives but terrible for spotting them. Once one is focused it’s difficult to draw our attention to all of our options. Always start with a wider view then narrow the spotlight to a focus (GPS). Always consider more than one option. Push for “this and that” rather than “this or that”. It is a powerful way to compare options. People tend to develop a preference for things more familiar. Habits emerge because the brain is constantly looking for ways to save effort or energy. As you become skilled in a task, the demand of energy diminishes.
The more you practice, the stronger the neural pathways become. The easier the thought occurs. Eventually that thought becomes a mental habit that arises effortlessly.
Nobody is talented enough without GRIT. Grit teaches you to practice even when it is not fun, it teaches you the sacrifice for the sake of passion. “I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I was trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over again and that is why I succeed” – Michael Jordan. “Success is 99% failure. If you want to increase your success rate, double your failure rate”. There are no shortcuts. John Wooden said “you are not a failure until you deny your mistakes”. Failure is an opportunity, not a condemnation. That is a growth mindset. A fixed mindset makes excuses to protect their confidence. To succeed you first need to learn how to fail. The joy should be in the pursuit, not the realization. (Process not the product).
TAKE CARE, STAY WELL, STAY HEALTHY. HAVE FAITH. THANK YOU.
