TOGETHER IS BETTER…S.Sinek, winnegrad

We can try to build a successful career or a happy life alone, but why would we? There is one way that dramatically increases the chances we will enjoy the journey. To travel with people we trust. TOGETHER IS BETTER.

Imagine going to work every morning inspired, to feel safe while there, and return home fulfilled. This can be a reality if we commit to working together, to advance a shared vision. Too many people believe that fulfillment is a right. No, FULFILLMENT IS A PRIVILEGE.

We achieve more when we chase the dream instead of the competition. We should always look within to see how we can improve. Life requires risk if we are to get anywhere. Analyzing others will not give us risk.

No one knows all the answers and no one has complete clarity. When we say out loud what we don’t know, it increases the likelihood that someone who knows will offer help. We at one time or another have been closed to ideas from another and have reacted defensively. We have to practice a little empathy to try to understand the poor reaction. Don’t complain, contribute.

You can’t do it alone. So don’t pretend you can.

A team is a group of people who trust each other. Excitement comes from the achievement. Fulfillment comes from the journey, with others, that got you there. Our greatest test is what we do with success once we find it. Let us live our lives for the legacies we want to leave. The value of our lives is determined by what we do for others, by helping them. It is a luxury to put our interests first. It is an honor to put the interests of others before ourselves. Failure we can do alone. Success always takes help.

A star wants to see himself rise to the top. A leader wants to see those around him become stars. There is an African proverb; “To go fast, go alone. To go far, go together.”

I thank all of you that have contributed to my journey. IT IS A PRIVILEGE, for me, TO TRAVEL TOGETHER with you.
