THE SOUL….M.Popova, Winnegrad

There are many definitions that are attributed to the SOUL. We are not going to discuss the religious, mythology, pop-culture version of the SOUL. But we will discuss the SOUL that we evaluate through our values, our actions and our beliefs. The pure essence that radiates from a person that we all see; as something warm, shining, trustworthy, giving, communicable and yes HUGABLE, that is the SOUL.

When one self-compares with another, which is inevitable, you vacate your life, your experiences. In essence you lose your SOUL. It can be toxic to your SOUL, by inviting in CYNICISM. (CYNICISM an earlier post). As stated earlier, CYNICISM, enables one to lose their curiosity, imagination and ambition. One has to constantly manage and protect their SOUL from falling into CYNICISM, a hardening and calcification of the SOUL.

This can be done by supporting critical thinking and not going forward with blind optimism. You have a choice; by lifting up others, you in turn lift up yourself. We all want to leave a footprint behind; by DONATING to others your knowledge and wisdom is the way to go. DONATING, remember is to give with no expectation of something in return, it is a gift. Our culture today has created a reward system in which you get points for tearing down rather than building up. Tests have shown that; one that gives a negative evaluation will sound more intelligent than one that gives a positive one. This is CYNICISM, destructive, lazy, easy and tempting.

The moment you compare to another, you vacate your SOUL. What is good for the SOUL is to assist others, to communicate earnestly with others, TO LISTEN WITH BOTH EARS to others, say hello to strangers and mean it.

Remember a good SOUL is a BLISSFUL life.
