Today I deviate from my usual post to pay TRIBUTE TO A FRIEND.
A friend, yesterday, began his life with the CREATOR. A NEW CIRCLE IS FORMED as he leaves this world and the CREATOR welcomes him to HIS world. Allow me to tell you about his SPIRIT that will always be with us.
He taught me, and others, about HUMILITY. About not to take oneself seriously. To always find the many moments to laugh at oneself. The HUMILITY that I have gained in life I credit to him. That virtue has helped me all through life, with work, with friends, with strangers and with family.
He taught me, and others, about SHARING. When I met him I needed the relationship of a family. He shared his family with me as if I was born into it. Through this SHARING I learned to give to others. To give and share with those who had less. This assisted me to share ideas at work and helped me to share with others the RESPECT and HUMILITY that I had within me.
He taught me, and others, about SHOWING COMPASSION FOR OTHERS. I learned to assist the elderly or people who could use a little bit of EMPATHY or COMPASSION. He always demonstrated COMPASSION for others. It is such a wonderful quality to possess rather than the opposite.
He taught me, and others, WE SHOULD LEAVE A HEAVY FOOTPRINT, ON THIS EARTH, WITH ALL THE WONDERFUL QUALITIES OF JUST BEING A GRACIOUS PERSON. YES, HE LEFT A WONDERFUL MEMORY. HE MADE US APPRECIATE LIFE MORE.
THANK YOU CHIEF IRV POWLESS, WE GRIEVE YOUR PASSING AS THE CREATOR WELCOMES YOU TO HIS WORLD. THANK YOU.

On the Joy of Humility
In reflecting on him,
I have fond memories,
one in particular,
like a breeze through the trees.
I was playing outside the home,
riding a bike with the boys,
when I looked up to the sky.
What the Creator offered me,
nearly hit me square in the eye.
When I went inside to ask the Family
what the Creator had offered,
they all bellowed a heart-felt laugh.
As what the Creator offered me,
required of my face
a bath.

Sorry for your loss but as you so eloquently said, he is on his way to be at another place. His footprint obviously is left for many to follow and learn from. No better gift is one that asss others no matter where we may be. Always a blessed student of yours. Art
