We all are stressed from time to time because of our busy lives. So we should take advantage of the different EMOTIONAL OUTHOUSES that exist. Some are just a walk in a wooded area, or just sitting and looking at a tree for ten minutes. Also talking to a friend that you know that would not be judgmental. Another EMOTIONAL OUTHOUSE to relieve oneself of unwanted stress is to alter your BEHAVIOR or your BELIEFS.
When evil is done to you an EMOTIONAL OUTHOUSE for you would be to respond as Tolstoy suggests. “You should always respond with KINDNESS toward evil done to you, and you will destroy in an evil person that pleasure which he derives from evil.” Showing KINDNESS on a regular basis makes other people’s lives better as well as yours. Yours is better because it is helping you relieve your stress with the use of your EMOTIONAL OUTHOUSE.
There are things that provide happiness to us that can be taken away, such as power, fame, wealth. But GRATIFICATION that comes from JOY is always in our command. By means of using our EMOTIONAL OUTHOUSE we can control the important aspects of LIFE. Always walk with KINDNESS and you walk with the basic quality of HUMANITY.
SOMETIMES WE ARE CAUGHT UP IN A MASS OF DISTRACTIONS. WE MUST AVOID STRESSFUL SITUATIONS BY USING OUR EMOTIONAL OUTHOUSE. THE OUTHOUSE IS WHERE WE CLEAN UP OUR EMOTIONAL HURTS AND INSECURITIES.
DO NOT BE WITHOUT ONE. EVERYONE NEEDS AN EMOTIONAL OUTHOUSE, IT DOES BRING RELIEF.

I took that journey to that big outhouse “in the sky” when I came out to Colorado. Being a big fan of the outhouse, I have not left and sit here contemplating the lessons learned. I am revisiting my attitude on a daily basis, as close to each breath as possible, being in gratitude for what the Creator has provided for me. Thanks for such a loving and beautiful father.

Heading to my emotional outhouse for the next few days…the beach! I’m looking forward to just mindlessly watching the water and feeling the breeze (in between sand castle building). Thanks for the wonderful reminder about kindness in response to evil. That’s a hard one but I’m working on it Love the post. 💜
