THE LESSONS OF THE PAST is what can help us get through the present. The foundation blocks of a culture is always with us. Sometimes we are so involved with the demands of the present we forget the teachings of the WAY OF LIFE that brought us to the present. Let us step back for a moment to reflect on THE LESSONS OF THE PAST.
The Iroquois people show us how to live in a COMMUNITY. The neighbors always make sure that their neighbors and their elders never go hungry. When their living quarters need repairs the village work together to make the repairs that are necessary. The Iroquois are the extreme example of a COMMUNITY. THIS EXAMPLE IS HAPPENING THROUGHOUT THE WORLD NOW… A TRUE LESSON OF THE PAST.
The Aborigines from Australia cultivate COMPASSION as their first emotion. It is this EMPATHY that they learn as children towards all the surrounding world, that is their foundation. It is their desire to always help alleviate the plight of another. They possess a public and social emotion. The teaching of EMPATHY begins in the first moment of an infant’s life. The mother teaches the child that when they see an ill or helpless person or creature it is of great importance to ASSIST the person or creature. This orients the child’s emotions toward EMPATHY, SUPPORT, COMPASSION. This is an extreme example of a COMMUNITY. THIS EXAMPLE IS HAPPENING THROUGHOUT THE WORLD NOW. A TRUE LESSON OF THE PAST.
THESE ARE THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF TODAY FROM THE PAST. WE ARE GRATEFUL TO BE ABLE TO FALL BACK ON SOME OF THESE LESSONS OF THE PAST.
PLEASE, TAKE CARE AND STAY WELL AND ALWAYS STAY HEALTHY.

Perhaps my comments will appear redundant because the man who provides this blog remains one of my great mentors, and a hero.
To look at life and learn from other cultures and recognize their valuable life lessons is a gift we must embrace and cherish.
Life presents many challenges and as humans we now are destined to not only come together, but to work together ( as long as it’s more than six feet apart).
This pandemic will define countries, states, cities, and neighborhoods, but more importantly it will define who we are as people.
Will we ever learn not to exploit those may not be strong, or who are less educated and who are more needy.
Ron’s messages often asks us to look in the mirror and ask ourselves “ how should we act”, and as brilliant teacher, he has already supplied the answers.
Listen, learn and share his lessons…
