This word HIPPOPOTOMONSTROSESQUIPPEDALIOPHOBIA is one of the longest words in the English dictionary, it has 36 letters. It is a word that I do not use. Half way through saying it I get thirsty and very dry in the mouth. Sometimes saying it brings on coughing. One time when I tried to use it in a sentence, I got so tired that I had to take a nap. Because of this word my vocabulary has absolutely become restricted. It has definitely limited my education. It produced much difficulty in my college years. My conversations are with words of one syllable.

It is possible that I would have been educated differently if I was not exposed to HIPPOPOTOMONSTROSESQUIPPEDALIOPHOBIA early in my education. It gave me such a fear, that I avoided anything related to it. So everyone I know accepts my limited, simple vocabulary. I am very grateful for everyone’s sensitivity empathy and concern for me. So, thank you everyone.

OH YES, THE WORD HIPPOPOTOMONSTROSESQUIPPEDALIOPHOBIA MEANS; “A FEAR OF BIG WORDS.” Now you see why I use only one syllable words. That is my life.
