THE QUALITY OF BEING DIFFERENT…Winnegrad

As with people, the Creator formed snowflakes each one BEING DIFFERENT than the other, trees of the same species LOOKING DIFFERENT, flowers of the same variety LOOKING DIFFERENT. It is acceptable to see DIFFERENCES within all the species on earth. There is a QUALITY OF BEING DIFFERENT, that is why we all appreciate nature.

Why then when we see a DIFFERENCE in ourselves from others, or see a DIFFERENCE in others we silently reject ourselves or others? BEING DIFFERENT can mean being on a DIFFERENT path than others or having a DIFFERENT thought process. BEING DIFFERENT does not mean that yourself or another is inferior or bad.

THE QUALITY OF BEING DIFFERENT is about having the CONFIDENCE or COURAGE to walk a different path and finding the comfort in not being or doing like others. Have COMPASSION and ACCEPTANCE for everyone even if they are DIFFERENT. Rely on your BELIEFS and do not worry if your socks do not match.

The Creator is never wrong and He did make differences within the same species. Do not listen to that silent voice of judgment in your head. Be comfortable in who you are, dare to BE DIFFERENT. Again, there are no two snowflakes alike.

The QUALITY OF BEING DIFFERENT, is the production of HARMONY. Putting two DIFFERENT people together is like putting two different MUSICAL NOTES together producing HARMONY. Be as the Creator wanted you to be, HARMONIZE with others.

THAT IS THE QUALITY OF BEING DIFFERENT. IT SHOULD BE ACCEPTED WITHIN YOURSELF FIRST THEN ACCEPT BEING DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS.

ENJOY IT. BE AS A SNOWFLAKE!!!

  1. I couldn’t agree more…

There is a quote that says: “Character is who you are when no one is watching.” If only we could take that to heart. So much energy is wasted by some of us trying to be what we think others want us to be. Instead, Be Yourself.

When we look at ourselves in the mirror, do we like what we see? The reflecting glass doesn’t lie. But the outward appearance isn’t all we are about. We must look again. We must look deeper. It is said that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Inside is where we house the important stuff. What we believe. How we act.

The qualities and traits that make each of us distinct individuals, set aside from others, is what makes this an interesting and fascinating world to live in. Only by being different than everyone else can we make a difference.

So why do some try so hard to be like others? Insecurity. Fear. Anxiety. These are just a few reasons. Or it could be: Competition. Jealousy. Deception. These are not issues that should be taken lightly; they should be addressed. Remember, we don’t need to keep up or measure up to anyone. Life is not a comparison competition. Hey, let’s face it, it takes guts to Be Yourself.

In order to love others, we must first love ourselves; Flaws, idiosyncrasies and all. If we are comfortable with who we are, we care little about what others think. That is not to say we should be inconsiderate or have less regard for others. No, just devotion to our own beliefs. In the words of Shakespeare:”…to thine own self be true.”

Then the layers of expectations we perceive the world holds above our head vanishes; all that energy spent creating a delusion is released. Be Yourself. And others will see that in you.

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” ~ Dr. Seuss

    Carpe Diem!
