YOU ARE MEANT TO BE HERE AT THIS MOMENT…U. Boser, Winnegrad

ALWAYS LEARN SOMETHING NEW TODAY, SO THAT YOU ARE BETTER THAN YESTERDAY. When we are tracking our performance, we should be more focused on improving rather than concentrating on the goal. When a skill becomes a mindless habit, then we have expertise. Focused on improving the skill, on a daily basis, shows YOU ARE MEANT TO BE HERE AT THIS MOMENT.

Excellent LEARNING does not have a comfort factor. The development of an area of expertise requires REPETITION and one has to be fluent in the essentials. The brain itself seems to understand the value of struggle. Remember, YOU ARE MEANT TO BE HERE AT THIS MOMENT.

Errors create meaning. They build understanding. Errors also are sharp, painful, humiliating and demoralizing. We have to understand that errors are necessary to develop a LEARNING, that goes to a skill that goes to expertise. To be an expert you have to have an incredible tolerance for failure. Remember, YOU ARE MEANT TO BE HERE AT THIS MOMENT.

To LEARN, to develop any sort of expertise, there are going to be mistakes because that is what understanding requires. Errors and struggle are an inevitable part of LEARNING. It makes task seem like a threat. The process of LEARNING is often the PROCESS OF EMOTIONAL CONTROL. Remember, YOU ARE MEANT TO BE HERE AT THIS MOMENT.

Coach H. Brooks said; “SUCCESS IS WON BY THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN WINNING AND THEN PREPARE FOR THAT MOMENT. MANY WANT TO WIN, BUT HOW MANY PREPARE? That is the big difference.”

Remember, YOU ARE MEANT TO BE HERE AT THIS MOMENT.

  1. This to me reinforces the need to have vision, and a game plan. The game plan is the journey, the repetition, the stumbles, and the recoveries. The vision is the goal, which may be altered along the way.
You are a wise and kind man Ron Winnegrad.

  2. At this moment ~ the awareness of the moment is the reward ~ fully alive in all its imperfection. I choose to practice with an intent of “Let it flow, then let it go.” I have faith that with practice in this, my subconscious will hold onto that which can best serve me and others.
    Gratefully ~
