To see the sun in the sky, to see the stars at night, to see the snow-capped mountains, to see the trees is a VALUE that warms the spirit. TO APPRECIATE THOSE TREASURES is easy. Just be GRATEFUL for their existence. They all return your FONDNESS by always being there. How wonderful is that, a true TREASURE. It would be difficult to exist without those TREASURES.
What about the TREASURE of FRIENDSHIP? Having a FONDNESS, an APPRECIATION, a VALUE, an AFFECTION of another is a BEAUTIFUL TREASURE. Today it is easy to let that FRIENDSHIP be a secondary thought. Now others rely on the phone or text to stay in touch. Even that can be a distant thought with the busy days so many of us have. No matter how you are treated by those that you TREASURE, that should not alter your HUMANITY. The sun, the stars, the trees are not always in sight, but you still TREASURE them. Their being out of sight does not alter your APPRECIATION for them. As W.H. Auden said in his wonderful poem The More Loving One; “IF EQUAL AFFECTION CANNOT BE, LET THE MORE LOVING ONE BE ME.” So reach out to those that you TREASURE and do not wait for them to reach out to you.
We cannot allow others to change who we are, especially if we TREASURE and hold dear the basic qualities of a DECENT HUMAN. Yes this will definitely make one more VULNERABLE, which is a quality that is necessary. VULNERABILITY leads to STRENGTH which leads to EMPATHY, COMPASSION, LOVE and DECENCY. SO FORGIVE, LET PASS AND TREASURE.

Perhaps my comments may seem redundant,
But I’ve followed the meaningful and very important messages my dear friend shares with the world, and I remain in awe.
These messages always seem to strike an emotional chord with me, and the more I read them, the more impact they have on my life.
I have always received valuable and sound advice from my mentor and thank him as I often do, for his insight, kindness, and concern for others.
Stay safe and warm

As I get older I find I value my friendships more and more and most especially this past year. We may not be able to be physically together but I so treasure my frequent phone calls with a small and wonderful group of people who I can’t imagine not having in my life. They are a true treasure and a gift. I have a very grateful heart. 💜
